Chiranthi Cooray
Chiranthi Cooray is a Director and Fellow of the Advocata Institute, an independent board director, senior transformation adviser, and Founder of Accedo Intel. She brings more than two decades of leadership experience across banking, financial services, capital markets, the public sector, and academia, with expertise in corporate governance, enterprise risk, ESG strategy, human capital, organisational transformation, and institutional resilience.
At Advocata, Chiranthi provides strategic oversight of the Institute’s operations and advises on governance, institutional planning, organisational development, and stakeholder engagement. She supports the strengthening of internal systems, policies, and processes, guides human-resource development and leadership succession, and contributes to building a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing organisational culture aligned with Advocata’s mission.
Chiranthi currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of The Autodrome PLC and as a Director of Ceyline Group and Acentura Inc. She is also the Founder of Accedo Intel, a technology venture focused on financial and climate-risk advisory and research for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. Her earlier executive career includes senior leadership roles at Hatton National Bank PLC and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, spanning human resources, enterprise transformation, sustainability, corporate communications, governance, and institutional development. She has also served as Chairwoman of the national task force on increasing female labour-force participation and as President of the Association of Human Resource Professionals Sri Lanka.
Chiranthi is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Certified Practising Accountant of CPA Australia, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management. She holds an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University, Wales. Her professional achievements include receiving the HR Leadership Award for Global HR Excellence and the Gold Category at the Women for Governance Professional and Career Women Awards for her contribution to human-resource leadership.
