The Advocata Institute is an independent policy think tank based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We conduct research, provide commentary and hold events to promote sound policy ideas compatible with a free society in Sri Lanka.  

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Innovatively edit videos  to tell a visual story.

  • Create high-quality video content under tight deadlines.

  • Multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously. 

  • Use understanding of digital trends and editing principles to create engaging video and audio content.

  • Assist in recording  and editing podcasts.

  • Conceptualize and materialize projects. 

  • Create concept boards and other visual representations of planned edits for video projects.

  • Assist in capturing studio-quality video and audio footage.

  • Collaborate with the team to produce excellent video content.

  • Preferred skills in motion graphics.

Eligibility

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in video editing, visual communication, film, or other related field.

  • Knowledge and a good understanding of motion graphics, digital special effects, animation, multi-media art, computer animation or computer graphics.

  • Creative experience in filmmaking and videography

  • Professional mastery of video and audio editing software and programs such as  Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop or equivalent.  

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a multimedia editor, video editor, or a similar role.

  • Good time-management skills.

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Deep understanding of digital trends and editing principles

    Preferred Skills

  • Strong proficiency in motion graphics and animation (Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro).

Compensation

This position offers a remuneration package ranging from LKR 80,000 - LKR 130,000 based on experience and qualifications, Advocata offers a stimulating work environment with the energy and culture, focused on impact.

Job Title: Senior PR and Communications Executive

Contract Type : Full Time

Contract Term : 3 Years ( Contract Renewal)

Vacancy Status: Immediate 

 

Job Role:

The Senior PR and Communications Executive will focus on managing and developing the social media platforms, writing articles and will be strongly engaged in events management. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To work with the Communications leads and develop annual/quarterly media strategies and implement them (Digital/Mass media)

  • To manage the Advocata Institute platform.

  • To write articles, journals, blogs and contents.

  • To present reports and data analytics

  • Create daily content on Advocata’s social media accounts

  • Manage and coordinate logistics for Advocata events

  • Maintain, edit and update the Advocata website

  • Keep up with Social Media trends and integrate them into the content plan

  • To create strategic analytical reports to be presented to the team and Board of Directors

  • Sustain a basic understanding of SEOs

  • Plan and be a part of video productions with a basic knowledge in or passionate about photography, videography, and scriptwriting

Required Qualification and Experience

  • The ideal candidate is a graduate in Economics/Public Policy/Business Management/Marketing from a reputed University

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in communications, marketing or business development.

  • Minimum 1 year of Events / Projects management experience.

  • A background in Journalism is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Adobe packages such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign would be an added advantage
